Description

Purpose: Provide direct nursing care to residents, supervise nursing assistants, and ensure high-quality care in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

~Supervise and direct daily activities of nursing assistants in accordance with nursing facility regulations.

~Plan shift services, programs, and resident activities with assigned nursing staff and support personnel.

~Complete and maintain accurate resident records for admissions, transfers, and discharges.

~Transcribe physician orders, administer medications, and perform treatments according to physician directives and established policies.

~Chart nursing notes in a descriptive manner reflecting care provided and resident responses.

~Participate in facility surveys, inspections, and orientation of new residents/families.

~Administer professional services including catheterization, tube feeding, wound care, colostomy care, suctioning, and vital signs monitoring.

~Collect samples for testing and perform routine lab tests.

~Provide health education to residents and families.

~Ensure compliance with HIPAA and maintain confidentiality of resident information.

~Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.

~Monitor medication and supply inventory; report shortages to Nurse Supervisor.

~Ensure dietary compliance and monitor foods brought in by visitors for adherence to resident dietary plans.

Requirements

Education & Certifications:

~Nursing Degree from an accredited college/university or graduate of an approved LPN program.

~Current, active MA LPN license.

~BLS/CPR and AED certification.

Skills & Competencies:

~Strong leadership, supervisory, and team collaboration abilities.

~Knowledge of nursing practices, medical procedures, and regulatory compliance.

~Ability to make independent decisions, handle difficult situations with patience and tact, and communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.

~Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and meeting other sensory/physical job requirements.
