Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled MICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week night shift contract. This Short Term Acute Care facility is looking for professionals who can work collaboratively in high-acuity environments, with a strong commitment to patient care. This opportunity is open to first-time travelers and those with at least one year of recent MICU experience.
Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the MICU.
Monitor, assess, and respond to patients' needs and changes in condition.
Administer medications, manage ventilators, and provide critical care interventions.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other nursing staff.
Chart and document all nursing care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Float to other units as needed based on facility demand.
Key Requirements:
Must be flexible to float between units.
Comfortable working every other weekend.
Ability to work night shifts consistently.
Expected patient ratio is 1:2.
1 year of recent MICU experience required.
First-time travelers welcome.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ASN or BSN).
Experience:
At least 1 year of recent MICU/ICU experience in a hospital setting.
License:
Active New Mexico RN license or compact license in good standing.
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Skills:
Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills.
Proficient in managing ventilated patients and administering critical medications.
Familiarity with EMR systems.
Ability to remain calm in high-pressure environments.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
License:
Active New Mexico RN license or compact license in good standing.
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
