Position Overview:

We are urgently seeking a qualified Pathologist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist pathologists in all aspects of surgical pathology and autopsy procedures, ensuring accurate and timely specimen processing and analysis.

Responsibilities:

Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens under the supervision of a pathologist
Assist in autopsies, including evisceration, dissection, and specimen preparation
Prepare and maintain detailed records, gross descriptions, and photographs as required
Ensure proper specimen labeling and handling for histology and cytology processing
Maintain laboratory safety standards and ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory policies
Collaborate closely with pathologists, histotechnologists, and laboratory staff to ensure efficient workflow
Assist in inventory management and preparation of surgical trays and autopsy supplies.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program.
NYS licensure as a Pathologist Assistant.
One-year experience as a Pathologist Assistant
Required experience in: Surgical Pathology, Histology, Cytology, General, Autopsy Pathology.
