About the Opportunity:
We’re seeking a dynamic and compassionate Manager of Labor and Delivery to join a leading medical center in Seattle. You’ll lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment that delivers exceptional care to a diverse patient population. This is your chance to make a real impact on families at one of the most important moments of their lives, while shaping the culture and clinical excellence of the department.
Department Overview:
- Labor and Delivery: 30 labor beds
- OB ED: 9 beds
- OB ORs: 4 operating rooms
- Births: ~550–600 per month (starting from 22–23 weeks gestation)
- NICU: Level 4 with 77 beds
- Multidisciplinary teams: MFM, Midwifery, OB, Family Medicine
- Specialized programs: Addiction Recovery, Doula and Cultural Navigators
- 24/7 Services: Anesthesia, Laborist, Neonatology
Key Responsibilities:
- 24-hour management and leadership of the Labor & Delivery unit
- Oversee clinical and operational activities, ensuring patient care meets and exceeds standards
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and development of nursing staff
- Develop and monitor quality improvement programs and department goals
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and experience
- Serve as a patient advocate and support cultural practices
- Drive staff engagement, retention, and professional growth
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school (or ADN with BSN commitment within 2 years)
- Current Washington RN license
- Current ACLS, NRP, and BCLS certifications
- 3+ years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- 1–2 years of progressive management experience
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field preferred
