72 mile radius rule strictly enforced MUST have 2 years of experience in speciality and travel experience REQUIRED. • Unit: L&D • # L&D Beds:12 labor beds; 5 antepartum beds; 2 OR's • # triage beds: Have an OB emergency room which has 6 beds • # births per day, per year: 150-200 births per month • Certs: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate or above EFM • 2 years of experience required in specialty, no first time travelers • Ratios: Follow AWHONN • FHM System OB Trace • EMR Meditech • Charge Nurse Yes, they are generally outside the staffing grid • Nurse Aides/OB tech Have OR techs that serve as OB techs • Weekend Requirement Every other weekend • Call Requirement Contract does not take all • Holidays Rotate in with perm staff • Scrub Color Provided by hospital • Tele none • Vents none • OB/Neonataologist in house Have neonatology in house and ob hospitalist in house 24/7 • IV Team no • RT 24/7 Yes • Pharmacy 24/7 Yes • Shifts 645a, 645p • Floating: Yes, as needed to post-partum • Floor specific orientation: 2 shifts • Common diagnosis / Types of patients High risk OB to routine OB, also have an antepartum on L&D for patients who will need to stay for awhile prior to going home or delivering • Additional Notes: OR techs scrub for c-sections, attend vaginal deliveries and do all stocking; do c-sections, cerclages and tubals on unit; baby friendly hospital; lactation in house to assist moms
