Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our school team. The Occupational Therapist will support students with disabilities or developmental delays in achieving functional independence in the school environment. This role focuses on enhancing students’ ability to access the curriculum and participate in daily school activities through the development of fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care abilities, and adaptive behavior.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine students’ needs for occupational therapy services.
Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in collaboration with IEP team members.
Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students in individual or group settings.
Monitor, document, and report on student progress toward IEP goals.
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to adapt classroom materials and teaching strategies.
Recommend and assist in the acquisition of adaptive equipment or technology to aid student access to the curriculum.
Maintain accurate records, including assessment results, session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation (if applicable).
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, IEP meetings, and other staff meetings as required.
Provide in-service training or guidance to staff and families as needed.
